Personally, i feel i need to develop on my knowledge of my potential target audience by doing more research and learning about the likes and dislikes of teens aged 16-19 years. If i do this, i can have a good indication of how to structure my magazine. As well as having an indication of what styles of music taste to include. On the other hand, because i am within this age range, i have a good idea of what this genre is interested in and what they find not so interesting.
I could develop my ideas while creating my music magazine. For instance, when an adult reads my music magazine, they will realise that my target audience is for the younger generation because of the intensity of colour, the text style and music taste. Many adult magazines have a lower amount of vibrancy because they're attention span to reading articles does not persuading as much because they like to read. Therefore, persuasive techniques aren't so important.
I can develop my knowledge on the younger generation by looking at survey results from official data. Here is an example of the percentages of teens aged 13 years and older that like pacific music tastes in the USA in 2011 and 2012...
