Flat plan changes Front cover

From creating my music magazine, my intentions for my front cover layout have changed. However, the other flat plans for my contents page and double page spread are the same. I decided to alter the front cover layout in order to make it look more professional and more spacious.

Below is the flat plan now for my front cover...

This front cover flat plan has a lot more detail to it and more positive features, which will help me achieve a higher grade

The website locates it's features well and the layout makes it easy for people to view certain topics or information about the company.

From looking into the PRMAX website, i was able to find some people who work with the media and relate to the type of creativity and circulation pointers which i would reach out to, in order to publish a music magazine.

Here are a few outlets and contact details in which i found when looking on the website...

These outlets, list many different styles of music taste and magazines, which different editors and publishers work with.

Crack magazine, which is listed above By editor Mr Davey Reed, would probably connect to the theme of my music magazine the most because it has the same target audience as what i am going for. For example, teens, aged 16-19 years.

Crack music magazine has an Urban music style and this is why it connects so well to my music magazine thoughts. i will use this website for inspiration and ideas while creating my music magazine.

Output Website

Output website- https://www.outputmagazine.com

Output is an online magazine platform and business intelligence source which focuses on the design of magazine. Using Canon cameras, the company brings a range of entry-level Image Prografs to UK market. It also looks at Manufacturing and digital round-up: TD Maverick and Freestyle Designs.

This is a good idea to follow this website for inspiration because it discusses the main factors of creating a magazine and explains professional features that are needed to create a good magazine.

Time management Calendar

From September 9th 2015 to 28th January 2016 i have created my Complete music magazine. This shows the whole process took 4 months. Therefore, i have thought about detail and conventions of the magazine with time. I wanted to ensure my magazine would reach a good standard. Therefore, this space of time was needed.

Has research supported my ides for my music magazine?

I feel that my research into my target audience has supported me and lead me to think of creative ideas and conventions which i can include in my music magazine. For example, i now have an indication of what i should discuss in my article, from looking at what official magazine publishing company's discuss. This will make my article more professional and create a stronger connection with my potential target audience.

Furthermore, from looking at survey's and charts, i now know the most popular types of music that teens like. So, i can refer back to this when i think about the type of magazine i am going to create. From research, my intentions are to create an Urban music magazine like 'Vibe Magazine'. This is because teens are into the latest charts and released music. So, they will take more of an interest in reading my magazine. It also allows me to create Bold colours as the music taste is upbeat and has a positive mood.

Examples of Urban Music magazines...

The types of music teens like

Many teens nowadays are into bands such as 'One direction' and 'Five seconds of summer', these bands were not a thing when adults were younger as their genre was different. Although similar bands such as the 'rolling stones' and 'Status Quo' were around and were very similar to the bands in our genre.  Bands are the most successful within the teenage genre as they are liked and have many fans between each music artist in the band.

On the other hand, some teens prefer solo singers. Currently, 'Selena Gomez' is a very popular solo artist. This is because her music is good and teens in this generation have followed and looked up to Selena Gomez as she was a star on Disney channel when out generation was younger. Therefore, her fans have followed her through time.

Below are some links which tell us a bit about what publishing companies discuss when having a teenage audience...

Storyboard of target audience

Baby
Music is not an interest and development starts

Toddler
A toddler starts to become familiar with the sound of music which is played in commercials or cartoons on TV.

Junior
When a child starts to mature they understand music more and watch programs on disney channel etc... from this, they get to know the actors that go onto creating music and learn to love their style of music.

                                                                       Teenager

Once a child turns into a teenager, their love for music increases and they begin to love music for what they independently think is a good taste in music. They begin to go to gigs and concerts with friends and use it as a social and event.

                                                 Adult

Finally, once a teenager turns into an adult their love for music matures and it isn't such a big deal anymore, music taste changes to more 'oldie' songs and relaxing music. However, this isn't the case for every adult. articles are read more by adults and persuasive techniques do not need to be used as much. Such as vibrant colours but they are still something that should be included in a music magazine.
