Evidence of research into other student's work

Research shows many different types of social media and places using the web, which students use to create their AS Media work on. Such as, Blogging, software, hardware, web apps, programs, organisation, products, audience, drafting, presentation and time management.

The positive use of a blog is that you can share your ideas with other bloggers and also present your work a lot quicker than what you would if you were to hand write your work. From research i have found that some blogs are better than others. This is because some blogs stand out more because of the use of colour, bold backgrounds and images used. Furthermore, i like how some bloggers use their own images in their posts. This makes the work look more personalised and proffesional. As well as this, using a blog means your work is kept together and has its own section away from irrelevant posts. I have found that this is the most popular use of presenting work by other students and i also like blogger because it is fast and easy to use.

Some students find it easier to use software like Microsoft word or powerpoint, in the manner that the work is presented as a slide show, rather than in posts. This is a good idea as it makes the layout of the work look quite formal. On the other hand, products are used by other students, where work is shown in a product reffering to marketing. If a product is used then this means less writing is needed as annotations are labelled on the product. I like how this focuses more on creating the idea rather than having to type most of the time.

Plus, web apps are also common, Blogger is one of them. My research has shown that A lot of students like to show their work, development and ideas using apps such as Tumblr, Instagram and Facebook. These apps are useful for media because a lot of features on them are linked to editing images and creating new ideas. On the other hand, image editing apps can also be downloaded, which means you can edit in those apps and then post the finished post or image on one of the listed social networks. This gives a positive affect because it allows friends and followers to like and see the work produced by the AS Media student. Therefore, the work gets noticed and becomes popular. As well as it having an audience. If friends and followers like the posts produced then students can then gain more followers in the future.

Lastly, i have recognised that many AS Media students like myself, keep a note of how they manage their time. I like how this is used because it means that you can always look back at your time management post and see how you have developed and improved timing skills, as the course has gone on.
