Front cover
This is my outcome front cover for my Student college magazine. i like the outcome of my cover and the color theme i have used, as it links to my targeted audience and is a bold colour against the image background. As well this, the image connects to the mood of the magazine. The mood and emotion shows happiness. Therefore, this gives a good impression on the readers and for new college starters. Additionally, i feel i have chosen the image well because it has the right fitted scale for the page and covers the whole page without looking to bold. Furthermore, i feel as though the main headline and tag line are suitable for my target audience. Plus, the font is a decent size which is easy to read and notice. So it stands out. The logo used at the bottom of the page shows the identity of the magazine and who the magazine belongs to. This is a good advertisement for Sunderland college. Moreover, i am quite happy with the banner outcome as it fits in with the colour of the sunderland College lanyard and other colours on the page. I have named the Mast head 'Student Taste', this is because the magazine talks about opportunities and futures of students and their interests. So, this means they have the option of what they want to do in the future and their 'taste' for careers. Including an issue number and date shows students when the magazine was published and if the articles in the magazine are up to date. As for the issue number, it shows students the number magazine published of Sunderland college. The purpose of this is that students can have a little bit more information on the magazine. However, i feel as though i could of improved the quality of my image as it is not sharp. This would of gave off a more positive affect on my student magazine front cover.
Contents Page
As for my contents page, i am happy with the layout and the order i have placed my conventions in. This makes it look more professional. Moreover, i am pleased with the boldness of the text color and style of the font i have used. This has made my text bright and noticeable. Moreover, the images of the college are clearer on my contents page than my front cover. As well as this, including the logo of my front cover has shown the identity of my student magazine like my front page. On the other hand, personally i feel i could of used more features on my contents page as the page is spacious and does not show a lot of information. Although, this could be a good point as the page is not overcrowded with bold text. Making the images the main focus of the page. Photoshop has helped me design both my front page and contents page by being able to work using different layers, typography, image adjustments and the magnetic lasso tool for my images.
