Evaluation softwares

Genially- Genially is a presenation software which allows you to create a presentation using puffs for each topic. This useful because it allowed me to separate each topic i was discussing in my evaluation questions

Powtoon- Powtoon is very similar to Genially. Although, the presentation is set as a slide show, which is created as a video. You are able to pause and play the video whenever you feel like you need extra time on a slide.

Prezi- Prezi is my favourite software because you can change the layout and design of your presentation. This can also put topics in the order you want by moving the circles around.

Canva- As for canvas, you can create a presentation and separate your topics using different designed post cards. I found this interesting and unique to any other presentation software. Therefore, i decided to use it in my evaluation questions.

Vimeo- Vimeo is focused more on visual affects. The presentation is read out on video camera by yourself. Then you are able to upload the video onto your Vimeo account. I liked this because it meant i could talk and discuss my question response in detail.

Emaze- Emaze is useful because you can design your response to the question in order. Using the idea of an art gallery. The software guides you around different areas, where you have placed text on different topics of your response to the question.

Powerpoint- The powerpoint software is a basic slideshow which you can place certain information of topics on each slide. This is simple and easy to use.

The characteristics of my potential target audience ( reader profile)

From my research and surveys, i have found that my potential target audience have pacific characteristics and interests...

Here is an example of characteristics

All teenagers ( my target audience) have a range of characteristics which create them as person. From my research i have learnt that teens have pacific interests, which create an impact on their characteristics. Such as, bright colours would create a positive mood towards a teen, making them feel energetic and happy. Therefore, i have suggested to use bright colours In my magazine for this reason. It will allow a positive feel to be made. In addition, i have figured that energetic teens prefer big ad bold to dull and boring. So, in this case, they would prefer something fascinating and eye catching. This has inspired me to use bold and upper case font styles in my music magazine.

Many teens use social media, which usually connects to the idea of positing photos and images themselves. In our days, pacific poses are performed by teens which capture attention to other teens. This refers to the idea of fitting in and looking cool. So, i have thought carefully about this idea and plan to experiment with different poses that interest teenagers, Rather than using boring and simple portrait photographs . I intend to make all of my images different, considering angles, distances ( close up, mid-shot, long shot). Doing this in my magazine will engage teenagers creating best interest characteristics.

In the end, i have came to the conclusion that boring and dull magazine features do not capture or interest my target audience. This is shown in urban magazine features, with a similar target audience. Inspiring me to create bold and bright, exciting features in my music magazine.

Developing my music magazine further

I have took advice into consideration, by developing my front cover, contents page and double page spread further. To begin with, i reduced the size of the puff, this is because it looked to much of a main focus, decreasing the affect the front cover image gave off. This meant decreasing the font size of the text 'Exclusive Interview' as well. Furthermore, i added a fill colour blue and changed the text to white. This is because i feel this colour creates a stronger contrast against the background colour. Although, i kept the gold outline, as this also increases contrasting affects and makes the audience feel the 'exclusive interview' is special because of the gold colour tone. Another feature of my music magazine front cover, i changed, was the quote underneath 'World Tour 2016'. This was replaced by the 2 bullet points at the bottom of the page. I decided to do this, as the quote dragged out, meaning my audience would loose interest in the magazine. Meaning, there was too much to read for a front cover. Therefore, i changed it to 2 snappy bullets which makes the target audience aware of a few of the magazine features. Moreover, i altered the font style and colour scheme of the main headline, ' The life created by sound'. I did this so that it now matched the gold outline of the puff. In addition to this, it increased the affect of the colour scheme. By creating a more vibrant outlook on the cover.  A lot of my features on my front cover related to Karolina as she is the main artist of the magazine, however, this could make my audience loose interest as they may not read the magazine because they don't like her. So in this case, i have added other artists names to the cover with a bit of information that links to them, which is in my music magazine. I have used artists names such as 'Beyonce, Selena Gomez and Drake'. Therefore, a variety of artists are mentioned. Finally, i switched the large text 'Karolina Moskal', with the phrase, 'Living Success', removing the 'career' quote, as i wanted quotes and phrases to be short and catchy.

As for the contents page, i have changed the background colour, to a light brown/ mink colour. This is because previously the background colour was red. In my opinion, this clashed with the red used on the models, checked shirt, decreasing the contrast levels. This colour allows a clear contrast to be made. Additionally, i have adjusted the alignment so that the text along the side of the page starts at the same point on each line. This makes the page look more professional. Furthermore, i  have added extra features such as, 'Album releases'. This opens up my audience as they can look at different topics in the music magazine. I have also looked at other magazines contents pages. For instance, 'Q magazine'. From this i took inspiration and noticed that they tend to include 'reviews'. So, therefore, i included a review section. Lastly, i have swapped the images of celebrities to images of my own. These are shown at the bottom of the contents page. I have experimented with the style photographs, by using styles such as, low key, high key and gel lighting images. These represent images of celebrities and album covers.

As for the Double page spread, i have moved the phrase 'Exclusive Interview' further up the page, as this contrasts more with the grey background and will capture the audiences quicker as it is situated higher. In addition to this, i changed the colour from red to black because since i have added a banner to the bottom of the spread, using black and grey. The colour scheme now matches and connects more. As for the banner, this includes extra information about tickets, website and surveys. i decided to use white text and bullets to allow a contrasting affect to be made against the background and font. I have also changed the style of the article, placing them in columns rather than a page of text. Making it look more professional and realistic. As well as this, i have included another portrait image of karolina. This is because i wanted to have more than one image on the contents page. This also indicates to the target audience, that this page is about her only. i have changed the drop down banner in the centre of the spread to the magazine logo. This is a form of advertising and looks better than the website link and quote of 'highly ranked artists'. However, i have still managed to mention the web link in the banner at the bottom of the spread. As well as include the 'Highly ranked artists' quote on the front cover. Finally, i have altered the font and increased the size of the phrase, 'Karolina announces upcoming tour'. I done this because this shows a further experimentation of font, making the page exciting and it creates a positive mood. Plus, the chosen font is bold and upper case, allowing it to stand out as it is important information which fans want to notice. This phrase will also persuade them to read the article because of the excitement given off from it. Finally i removed the font from the left side of the spread that listed the words, 'Life story, World Tour, Fame' and i have replaced it with a red puff that mentions, ' An incredible 2016!'. I feel this change is correct as the quote is more leading and persuasive than the 3 words. These words don't achieve anything or engage the target audience in my opinion. Whereas, this quote leads the audience on to reading the article. A contrast is made in the puff because the font colour stands out against it (white). It is also in upper case text which gives off a positive affect by standing out. The purpose of making the puff 'red', is so that it links in withe the colour scheme of the magazine. For instance, i have made the colour red a main focus in all of my music magazine because it links to both genre audiences and contrasts well with other colours used in backgrounds.

Inspiration for music magazine website- Mojo magazine

Mojo Magazine web page...

Mojo magazine web page is very similar to 'Vibe magazine's' web page. This is because it uses similar colour schemes and font styles. Also, the layout is similar. However, the music theme style is different and it focuses on more older music styles with an older audience genre taste. On the other hand, it does include some recent music. Therefore, there isn't a fixed theme for this magazine.

The black and white theme is inspiring and unique. I like it because it focuses on a traditional and experimental theme. The black and white idea also matches the text colour and backgrounds, linking all areas of the web page together.

The font style is fascinating in this magazine web page and the vibrancy levels are high, which makes the text bold. I plan to take this idea and use it in my magazine web page, as it will attract and persuade my audience genre to read the magazine page because it's exciting and creates a positive mood.

Inspiration for music magazine website-Vibe magazine

Vibe music magazines web page...

I really like the Navigation bar on this website because it's bold, which allows it to stand out and capture the audiences attention. Plus, the contrast is a main focus allowing small font style and text to stand out as well.

I intend to use vibe's web page as inspiration in creating my music magazine web page, as it relates strongly to the style of my music magazine. My magazine is an 'urban' themed style of music and so is vibe, so the 2 connect and are similar.

Devotion magazine website

I have created a website for my music magazine 'Devotion', using photoshop. This is in order to help me achieve a positive grade towards my magazine planning and development. Additionally, i have used features on my magazine page, which apply to official magazine web pages.

To begin with, i have created a black and white colour scheme so that it shows a traditional theme. Although, the quality of the images is increased using the black and white filter. In this case, i have used this idea to make my images show quality and appeal to my audience. Therefore, it also creates a modern theme as well.

The title is bold and the colour of the 'grey background' and the white 'Devotion' font contrasts well, making it stand out and be a main focus. Furthermore, i have used a font that is interesting and suits the 'urban' style of my music magazine. next to the main title/ heading, i have decided to include a jpeg image of my music magazine front cover. This feature is an advertisement and persuades my target audience who look at the web page to read the latest magazine from 'Devotion'.

The drop down list is a feature which is used on nearly every magazine website, such as 'Vibe magazine', 'Q magazine and more. The purpose of this is to navigate particular areas of the music magazine using this list and making it easy for the audience to look at particular areas of the website.
Below is an example of the drop down list which i took from 'Vibe magazine's' website.

Also, i took the lined background affect from vibe's website because it is unusual and allows your text to stand out.

I placed the text, ' Music' with an ellipses and 'what's new' on this background as a subheading. Therefore, it will attract my audience into reading it and be a persuasive technique.

I have included phrases and quotes, such as '2016' which show the audience that the website has recently been updated and there is new gossip.

The navigation arrows are so the audience can flick through different images. These are the arrows at either side of the main image...

The images i used are of celebrites, again in a black and white affect theme. However, i used an image from my music magazine photoshoot at Sunderland university, as a main image. This is noticeable because it is larger than the other images used on the web page. Below is the original and edited main image.
